Attention Beef Producers:

The 2014-15 Farm to school beef bid process is underway. School districts in southwest Colorado are working together to purchase beef from Colorado ranchers in order to bring in healthier, sustainably produced and regionally sourced foods to our lunch programs. If you are a producer and are interested in putting in a bid for one or all of the participating school districts you may find a bid packet on the websites of the participating area school districts, Ignacio, Bayfield, Durango, Mancos and Cortez. Sealed bids need to be returned to Krista Garand of Durango 9R by 2:00 PM Friday May 16. Please click here for a packet.

The 2014-2015 Mancos School District Calendar is available for comment. Please click here to see the calendar and e-mail any comments to: calendar@mancosre6.edu
Reminder: The District still has one more make up day: Friday, May 2. Students will have school that day!

Mancos is very proud of its elementary school. As you walk down our colorful hallway, you will instantly realize how much our staff cares about all students. The staff creates a positive environment, and our students are eager to engage in learning. This is evident by the work displayed in the hallways as well as the smiles on the students’ faces and the laughter in their voices. Often our Caught Being Good jars are overflowing with slips of paper recognizing the good deeds of our students. Our teachers are not only dedicated to developing positive relationships with students and parents, but they are also deeply committed to providing quality learning experiences. Our staff regularly meets to collaborate on instructional best practices and interventions for student growth.
Creating a learner centered educational environment for the whole child in the 21st Century is our goal. Our Mancos community supports our education efforts through a variety of partnerships. All of our staff value this important resource and feel very fortunate to work with such great kids!
